Ex-Reds trio to play in David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane’s Unicef charity game

Former Liverpool trio Jamie Carragher, Michael Owen and David James will be playing in Unicef’s ‘Match for Children’ charity game at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The ex-Reds aces have been named in David Beckham’s squad against a team headed by Zinedine Zidane in a star-studded line-up of some of the world’s best recently-retired or veteran players.

The game kicks off at 3pm and lining up alongside Carragher, 37, Owen, 35, and James, 45, in Beckham’s team of British aces will be David Seaman, Sol Campbell, John Terry, Phil Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Ashley Cole, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs.

In opposition, Zidane’s rest of the world side contains Edwin van der Saar, Cafu, Fabio Cannavaro, Alessandro Nesta, Luis Figo, Ronaldinho, Patrick Vieira, Michael Ballack, Massimo Ambrosini, Robert Pires, Dwight Yorke, Patrick Kluivert, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Landon Donovan.
